Cancer Care

Ione Colombo got a mammogram just in time. She was diagnosed in the early stage of breast cancer with ductal carcinoma in situ and was a candidate for mastectomy and reconstruction. Dr. Beth Sutton, general surgeon, performed her surgery and Dr. Phil Stephan, plastic and reconstruction surgeon, performed immediate breast reconstruction at the same time as the mastectomy at United Regional. Ellen Cannon, RN, Breast Health Navigator, helped support and guide Ione through the entire treatment and recovery process.

Residents of Wichita Falls and the surrounding area can feel confident that they have convenient access to high-quality cancer detection and treatment services according to the Commission on Cancer and the American College of Surgeons. United Regional is one of just 1400 Commission on Cancer (CoC) approved cancer programs nationwide. Cancer programs earning recognition from the CoC offer high-quality cancer care that meets or exceeds Commission standards.

Our goal is to provide compassionate, quality services throughout the continuum of cancer care and to provide hope and comfort to patients and their loved ones.
