Children's Miracle Network

Alyvia Diaz

Alyvia is Jenny and Tony’s second child. Everything was going according to plan until Alyvia decided she wasn’t ready to make her big debut on time. So 10 days after her scheduled due date Jenny was induced. Soon after they broke her water, Jenny began to run a fever. Alyvia began to struggle and when she was finally born neither Jenny nor Tony heard her cry. Whisked to the waiting infant warmer - purchased through donations to Children’s Miracle Network - staff began to resuscitate her. After working on her for a few minutes they moved her quickly off to the nursery. It was an agonizing wait for Jenny and Tony. Alyvia had aspirated on merconium and needed to be put on a ventilator in order to breath. A special ventilator made just for super-tinys. Paid for through a generous gift to Children’s Miracle Network from the United Regional Auxillary. Turns out Alyvia is one strong little girl. Just a few days later she was off the ventilator, and five days later, she went home. Without an infant ventilator at United Regional she would have had to be transferred to another hospital. And because Jenny was receiving medical care too, she would not have been able to see her new child for at least three days. Instead, she was just steps from her the whole time.

When a child is ill, a newborn needs highly specialized treatment, or there is an emergency, United Regional is able to provide the highest quality of medical care in part because of funds raised through the Children's Miracle Network. Since 1988, more than nine million dollars has been raised locally to provide the best pediatric medical care possible for the children of Texoma. On June 5 and 6, 2010 the CMN Telethon celebrated contributions and support totaling $700,394. Tune in for the 2011 broadcast on KFDX TV-3 June 4 from 7:00 to 10:00 pm, and June 5 from noon to 5:30 pm.

Children's Miracle Network Telethon

We Celebrated 24 years of Children's Miracle Network at United Regional on KFDX TV-3 June 4 and 5. Since 1988 we've challenged the community to help fund live-saving medical equipment to treat infants and children, and each year the community has answered with a resounding YES!

This year’s telethon featured community members, business owners, medical staff, hospital employees and children whose lives have been changed by every dollar donated to children's Miracle Network at United Regional. Total dollars raised $469,680.00
