Digital Mammography
United Regional is proud to be able to provide the women in our community with one of the most advanced screening technologies available with our full-field digital mammography. This technology helps to identify cancers early when they are the most treatable. The digital mammography system detection technology provides 15% more accurate mammograms among women under 50, or not yet in menopause and 11% more accurate among women with dense breast tissue. Stereotactic Breast Biopsy
Biopsies are the only definitive way to confirm that a breast abnormality is benign (non-cancerous) or not. Stereotactic breast biopsy is an alternative to open or surgical biopsy and is a safe and minimally invasive form of breast biopsy, which can more accurately pinpoint the mass. It is used to obtain tiny samples from an abnormal breast mass for examination by a pathologist. Read more.
