Wound Care Center

Each year, millions of Americans are kept from doing the things they love due to chronic wounds.

The Wound Care Center at United Regional offers a multidisciplinary team approach to provide the care you need. The Center complements your primary care physician by providing very specialized state–of–the–art, comprehensive care for chronic wounds.

The most common type of wounds evaluated in our Center are conditions related to:

  • Diabetes
  • Arterial disease
  • Venous
  • Pressure ulcers
  • Skin ulcers due to decreased immune system function
  • Non–healing surgical wounds

In addition, ostomy treatment and instruction are available for new ostomates learning to adjust to a lifestyle change or long–term ostomates desiring updated information regarding care and supplies.

The Wound Care Center staff is under the medical direction of physicians who are certified in trauma, wound care and cardiovascular surgery. The wound care team consists of certified wound care nurses, certified Hyperbaric Oxygen therapists and nurses who are specialized and trained in wound, ostomy and continence care.

Our multi–disciplinary team approach allows you to receive medical care from a broad base of specialists. Based upon your treatment needs, care may be provided to you by the following specialists:

  • Physical and Occupational Therapy
  • Laboratory
  • Nutritional management
  • Pain management
  • Diabetes education
  • Hyperbaric oxygen therapy
  • Radiology
  • Infection control
  • Orthotic footwear evaluation
  • Social services

The multidisciplinary team in the Wound Care Center works with patients to identify vascular problems, risk factors, skin care problems and develop a care plan that includes treatment, education and prevention both for patients and caregivers.

8th Street Campus - enter from 7th Street side of the building which has a convenient parking area for wound care patients.

United Regional's Wound Care Center has earned the Gold Seal of Approval™ for health care quality. The Joint Commission awarded United Regional Disease-Specific Care Certification for wound care.
