Volunteer

The United Regional Auxiliary is an organization designed to provide philanthropic support to United Regional Health Care System. The auxiliary is comprised of volunteers and community members who support the hospital through financial gifts and giving of their time through service.

Since the 1920’s, the volunteers of United Regional have touched the lives of patients, their loved ones, our staff and our community with compassionate, caring service.

Today, more than 100 adult and student volunteers (high school students) give their time to United Regional. Over the past 20 years, the Auxiliary has supported the hospital with financial gifts totaling more than $1.5 million and given more than 900,000 hours of service.

Our volunteers are a vital part of our health care team. They impact the lives of our patients with their smiles, words of encouragement, and giving of their time. They work each day to make a positive difference in the lives of our patients, their family as well as our staff.

Adult Volunteer Opportunities

Our adult volunteers are dedicated men and women, at least 21 years of age, who share a common desire to help others. To remain active, volunteers are asked to commit to at least one shift each week.  Volunteer shifts are typically 4 hours each day.  Currently, volunteers must also have a current Covid-19 vaccination, have a flu vaccination (during flu season) and take a TB test upon acceptance to the program.

For additional information about our adult program or to obtain an application to volunteer, contact Volunteer Services at (940) 764-6007.

Student Volunteers

During the summer, students have the opportunity to volunteer during an 8-week summer program.  For information and requirements on the Student Volunteer Program, click here.
