Advanced Cardiac Life Support – 2-Day Provider Course

This is a 2-day course.
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support is an advanced, instructor-led classroom course that highlights the importance of team dynamics and communication, systems of care and immediate post-cardiac-arrest care. It also covers airway management and related pharmacology. In this course, skills are taught in large, group sessions and small, group learning and testing stations where case-based scenarios are present.
ACLS is designed for healthcare professionals who either direct or participate in the management of cardiopulmonary arrest or other cardiovascular emergencies. This includes personnel in emergency response, emergency medicine, intensive care and critical care units such as physicians, nurses, and paramedics, as well as others who need an ACLS course completion card for job or other requirements.
Before taking ACLS, students should have a mastery of BLS skills and knowledge of ECG rhythm interpretation.
Prior to course: Check out a book from the Education Department to read. Go to elearning.heart.org and sign in or create an account. Complete “ACLS Precourse Self-Assessment and Precourse Work” – Course code KJ-1498. This must be completed prior to attending class. Without the pre-course preparation, you may not be able to successfully complete the course. You Must obtain an 80% on the Self-Assessment and bring completion certification to class for admission to the course.
