Summary
United Regional is pleased to announce it has once again achieved Pathway to Excellence® designation by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
The Pathway to Excellence designation identifies the elements of work environments where nurses can prosper. The designation substantiates the professional satisfaction of nurses at United Regional and identifies it as one of the best places to work.
This designation says a lot about the relationship between United Regional and the great nurses who provide care here. It proves we are committed to them, to what they identify as important to their practice, and to valuing their contributions in the workplace. It also confirms to the public that nurses working at United Regional know their efforts are supported.
Adonna Lowe, Vice President of Patient Care and Chief Nursing Officer
The Pathway to Excellence designation is granted based on the confirmed presence of characteristics known as “The Pathway to Excellence Criteria.” For an organization to earn the Pathway to Excellence distinction, it must successfully undergo a thorough review process that documents foundational quality initiatives in creating a positive work environment — as defined by nurses and supported by research. These initiatives must be present in the facility’s practices, policies, and culture. Nurses in the organization verify the presence of the criteria in the organization through participation in a completely confidential online survey.
“It comes as no surprise that United Regional was re-designated with the Pathway to Excellence achievement,” said Justin Keeter, manager of the critical care unit and seven-year employee of United Regional. “As an RN, I know that my thoughts are heard by the organization and that I truly have a voice in the care of our patients. This recognition proves what we already know – that United Regional is a positive work environment where nurses can flourish, and where there are high levels of nurse engagement – further exemplifying that United Regional is not only a great place to receive excellent care, but a great place to work as a nurse as well.”
