Ear, Nose & Throat (ENT)

Otolaryngology (commonly known as Ear, Nose, and Throat — or ENT), is the branch of medicine and surgery that specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of a variety of conditions affecting primarily the ear, nose and throat. Some of these conditions include cancer, adenoidectomy, bilateral myringotomy tubes, endoscopic sinus surgery, mastoidectomy, parotidectomy, septoplasty, thyroidectomy, and tonsillectomy.

Our Approach to ENT Services

By offering advanced ENT services at United Regional — including cochlear implants, specialized surgical technologies, and more — you can stay close to home for both your procedure and follow-up care.

Cochlear Implant

Cochlear implants are designed for people with severe to profound sensorineural hearing loss who no longer benefit from hearing aids.

The procedure is typically done on an outpatient basis. After surgery, our audiology team activates the device and works closely with you to fine-tune its settings. This process, called mapping, ensures the implant is customized to your hearing needs. Several follow-up visits are scheduled during the first year to adjust the device and support your progress.

United Regional offers this procedure, along with follow-up care, right here in Wichita Falls — allowing you to stay close to home for both surgery and ongoing support.
