Nursing Opportunities

Our Commitment to Quality

United Regional’s commitment to high quality health care is evidenced in the many program certifications and awards it has received, including the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Pathway to Excellence re-designation in 2014.

We achieved the first designation in 2011. The Pathway to Excellence designation confirms the professional satisfaction of nurses at United Regional and identifies it as one of the best places to work. To earn the Pathway to Excellence distinction, we underwent a thorough review process that documented the quality initiatives used in creating a positive work environment — as defined by nurses and supported by research. Our nurses verified that the criteria were met by participating in a confidential online survey.

United Regional also received national recognition with the 100 Top Hospitals® award given by Truven Health Analytics for two consecutive years, in 2013 and 2014. Winners of the award provide the highest quality care in the most efficient manner, maintain top financial stability, and elicit the highest patient perception of care.

Our Progress and Growth

In February 2016, phase I of the the Emergency Department expansion and renovation project was completed. The Bridwell Center for Emergency Care opened to provide larger treatment rooms with greater privacy and comfort, larger trauma rooms to accommodate the latest equipment, and a rapid assessment and treatment area for faster patient throughput. The entire renovation is scheduled to be completed by early 2017. The Bridwell Center for Emergency Care will double the size of what was the existing ED, built in 1999 when we treated approximately half of the emergency room patients we do today.

In 2009, United Regional expanded its campus with the addition of the Bridwell Tower to enhance community access to diagnostic, surgical services and acute care. The System has also recently invested in some of the most advanced technology available today in surgery, radiology, laboratory, communication systems and more.
